Tampa Bay is shopping him again, rumors say. Big cap hit, and would cost a lot in a trade but he certainly would solve the Center issue. Connelly, Webber and a #1 may not be enough, but, it's a starting point. One can dream.

That would be news to me. Last I read just a few days ago, Yzerman said he isn't shopping Vinny at all.

Is this your first week as a Sabres fan? Sabres don't take chances and won't sign a big name EVER or trade for one. The team they have now is a Stanley Cup championship team. Why get offense when you have the best goalie in the world? That is crazy talk

Ignoring the simple 'big name' theory, would anybody actually want him?

-He is currently 30 years old.
-He is signed through the 2019-20 season, which would make him 40 when the contract expires.
-The yearly cap hit of the above contract is $7,727,273
-The last two seasons he has had 67 points in 77 games, and 70 points in 82 games.

Think about it.

2 Things:

1. His contract makes him practically unmovable.

2.

Yea Vinny is on the decline -- he didn't do much of anything while Stamkos and St.Louis had great years.

Maybe a change of scenery would help, but I'm not taking that chance for that price.

So he'd basically be an older and more expensive Roy. No thanks.
