Trents 5 best performances ever

1. KC- 273 yds, 2 TDs, 24-32 (KC bottom 5 team) Longest play, 51 yds
2. SD- 261 yds, 1 TD, 25-30 (SD missed playoffs) Longest play, 22 yds
3. Mia- 165 yds, 4 TDs, 11-23 Longest play- 70 yds
4. NE- 212 yds, 2 TDs, 15-25 Longest play- 30 yds
5. Oak- 279 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT, 24-39 long play 34 yds

Now this is most QBs on a average day. Not only this but Trent in 32 career games, had only 5 games with over 250 yds. and only 11 games with over 200 yds.

8 games where he had more TDs than INTs

4 games where hes scored 2 tds or more

Now lets compare this to, lets say Fitzy

Top 5 games

1. 297 yds, 2 INTs, 1 TD (jack) Long- 98 yds
2. 155 yds, 3 TDs, (ind, blizzard) long- 41 yds
3. 310 Yds, 3 TDs, 1 INT, (Hou, 1 ever game) long- 56 yds
4. 261 yds, 1 TD (Philly) Long- 26 yds
5. 246 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT, (MIA) long- 51 yds

Now Trent does lead in the catagories, 200 yds games 11-6, 250 YD or more, 5-4.

But Fitz had 8 games with more TDs thn INTs, and 3 games of 2 TDs or more.

Now this doesnt say fitz is better, but even hes shown more flashes of greatness than Edwards. Edwards never even had a game with 250 yds and 3 TDs. His only game with 4 TDs, only had just over 100 yds. I do not think either are starters material, and this proves it. A real NFL QB has games of 300 yds, games of more than 3 TDs along with the 250 plus yds. Look at Quinn, hes had 14 games and already a 4 TD 300 yd game

Conclusion - We need to call Denver and trade Trentative & Fitzpatrick for Quinn.

What I take from this: We are screwed unless Brohm somehow develops into something.

Another conclusion: Hello Jake Locker, Andrew Luck, Ryan Mallet or Pat Devlin.

What I take from this is you wasted your time looking up stats of garbage QB's.

Start Brohm, the unknown, or go the year with a garbage QB and draft a QB next year. Those are the only 2 options.

The so called worst QB in NFL, Jamarcus Russell has, 8 200 + yd games, 3 less than Trent. 5 games with more TDs than INTs, 3 less than Trent. Same ammount of games with 2 TDs or more. Here is Russells top 5 games

1. 277 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT, (SDG), 63 yd long
2. 242 yds, 2 TDs, 1 INT, (NE), 56 yd long
3. 236 yds, 2 TDs (HOU) 29 yd long
4. 180 yds, 2 TDs (DEN), 24 yd long
5. 228 yds, 1 TD, 1 INT (Bal) 60 yd long

Russell is almost equal to Trent in everything. Look at the teams he had his best games vs, SD, NE, HOU, BAL, DEN. Each one has made the playoffs (idk bout houston actually). Bal, SD, and HOU have top 10 Ds.

The point of looking up the stats was to prove to "trent believers" that he is garbage

San Diego made the playoffs that year, they won a game in the playoffs as well against the colts

A fact like this actually undermines your point. If Brady Quinn can reach those numbers, then it just further shows that numbers don't define a good QB.
Greatness is about quality, not quantity.

It shows that Trent does not have the ability to take over a game

You don't need a QB to "take over" a game, you need him to perform in the clutch to win it. (which he doesn't do anymore either)

Big numbers from a QB sometimes means he's throwing all the time because his team is down big and the other team is playing prevent.

Edwards hasn't done anything to fill me with hope that he can be a good NFL QB, but we have to at least accept that ****ty coaching and a revolving door at LT the past two seasons have ruined his progression.

I want to see what he does with a real coach who truly believes in teaching his players and working with them to make them improve before I finally throw him under the bus.

That said, if he reverts to type once pads go on I can't see any reason not to hand Brohm the keys and let him prove that he's got what it takes.

I'd argue the only time he performed in the 'clutch' was during that stretch of extremely crappy teams (seattle, stl, oak, etc...). Then we faced ARI and he got knocked out, and when we started to play better teams (or teams which didnt suck), Trent's 'true' colors came out.

Im done with Trent. What you see is what you get. He'd be good enough if we had Baltimore's defense back in 2000, -but otherwise... he just doesnt cut it.

The quality of teams does not diminish how well he played in early 2008.
Against the Raiders, he threw a difficult TD pass to Parrish as he was about to get hammered.
Against the Jags, there was the 37-yard pass to Evans, after sidestepping the rush. An accurate 37-yard pass is an accurate 37-yard pass.
The Hit made all the difference. Edwards changed more than the opposition changed. He sucked against crappy teams too after that, so the level of competition was irrelevant.

That is the reason TD's are the only stat that should be looked at.

And 1 good throw doesnt make him a good quarterback.

But you're right... the quality of teams doesnt diminish how good Trent can play. It only says something about his ability to play against good teams.

But after The Hit, he didn't have much ability to play against ANY team. He stunk it up against Cleveland. The problem wasn't the opponent, the problem was whatever happened in his head.
Making it about the opponents is really simplistic rhetoric that doesn't talk about how he actually played, in good games and bad.

Philagape

Another reason why quality of opposition wasn't the factor that some make it out to be: The Bills sucked too! When the pass protection and playbook suck, that's an equalizer against bad defenses.
If a QB has all day to throw to open receivers (for example, Losman against the Bengals in 07), then one has a point about the QB having it easy. But it wasn't like that against the Raiders and Jags.

I'm curious about something. He suffered from two concussions in 2 seasons. I wonder what his stats look like before the Arizona game in 2008 and before the Jets game in 2009......

Mikey, the play where ol'TE was concussed was pretty obvious. Of course it had been Brady or Manning, charges would have been filed, since he got smashed while on his knees...or when he was already "down," constituting a late hit and felony charges if you are one of the chosen ones.

I agree with you about the 08 stats as well. The SD game Trent played pretty well. That was one of the better games I have seen him play. I guess the SF game was more of an omen of things to come.

When looking back, I can say that I felt Trent was still our QB of the future heading into last year. The NE game was a ****storm, as we all know, but TE looked extremely not bad, and he appeared to have found his noots in the TB game. Then the wheels came off. He looked broken beyond repair.

I can, honestly, say that I have never thought Fitzy was an acceptable answer. I like guys that can throw at the QB position. As has been said, I hope we just hand the keys to Brohm and come what may.

Someone should look up which teams played a 3-4 defense, something tells me that the majority of his ****ty games were against a 3-4 team.

The Jacksonville game and Fitzs first game was close to it

Fitz totally blew in the fourth quarter in the Jacksonville game, and his first game sucked. Never seen Fitz really do anything clutch, whereas we've seen Trent be clutch on several occasions.

If you don't think Trent is the answer & you are not a Trent lover, what in your mind is the point of starting him over Brohm?

He is known to be injury prone & is in the last year of his contract. Do the Bills resign the guy? So again if he is not the answer, why play him even if he could get the Bills a couple more wins this year?

The couple extra wins could mean the difference between a good QB & a GREAT QB in the next draft.

Jim Kelly was picked 14th. Dan Marino was picked second last in the first round. That was a deep QB class, and so will next year's be. I'm not suggesting that there will be three Hall of Fame QBs in round one like the 1983 draft...far from it. I'm just saying that we don't necessarily even need a top ten pick to have a chance at a great QB. Some of the worst teams have been bad for a while, so they already have their highly picked QB prospects to work on and are less likely to pick a QB again so soon even if they do have a poor season. We'll have to see, but I can only see maybe a half dozen teams that even MIGHT be shopping for a long term answer at QB next year. Of course, that number can easily fluctuate depending on what happens this year.

i hope these garbage a** QBz know exactly how the fans feel about them..the stats speak for themselves..and this has been a CURSED trend..Bills Qbz cant throw for over 300 yds or have more then 1 TD games on a consistent basis..actually forget consistent, they just cant DO IT!..Captain checkdown will end up getting injured and most fans already know this..only NFL team who CONSTANTLY ignores the QB and OLINE for a decade straight..that speaks VOLUMES about their dedication to winning or LACK THERE OF..UR TIME IS UP WILSON!

Where are the offensive line stats? What was the average time allowed in the pocket?

I found a link that has a block of games from 09 where he was getting 3.26 seconds before a sack, while the average was 2.7 seconds. TRENT was near the top in time allowed. Read what you want into it but, to me it says TRENT was getting adequate time and the excuse of blaming the O-line is unwarranted.
