History
2007-08: Played for the Elgin-Middlesex Chiefs (Minor Midget), notching 104 points (53G, 51A) in 65 games. Chosen third overall in the 2008 OHL Priority Selection by the Owen Sound Attack.
2008-09: In his rookie season in the OHL, Shipley played in 63 games, scoring 16 goals and adding 23 assists for 39 points. He played in 4 playoff games for the Attack but did not register a point.
2009-10: In 68 games for the Attack, Shipley scored 23 goals and tacked on 40 assists for 63 points. Shipley played for Team Orr at the 2010 CHL Top Prospects Game.
