Buffalo Bills Cliche Countdown: Run And Stop The Run (http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2010/6/29/1541989/buffalo-bills-cliche-countdown-run)
To win in the NFL, you must run and stop the run. It's a long-standing cliche in football analysis. The Buffalo Bills have also keyed on this idea during the 2010 off-season, and will need to improve in both rushing offense and defense if they want to increase their win total from a year ago.

Buffalo Bills Cliche Countdown: If You Have Two Quarterbacks... (http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2010/6/30/1542972/buffalo-bills-cliche-countdown-if)
"If you have two quarterbacks, you actually have none." What does it mean if you have three quarterbacks? Last season, Trent Edwards started the first six games of the season for the Buffalo Bills before sustaining a concussion against the New York Jets

I don't think we'll have much of a problem running the ball, but stopping the run probably won't begin to manifest until late in the season when its too late.

Look to 2011 for actual results that produce wins.

We are going to go 8-8 this season.

I don't know how we can get it done with no QB or LT and scheme changes on both sides of the ball, but I have a feeling we are going 8-8 this season.

Gut feeling, nothing more.

6-10 team + healthy o-line, better head coach, better offensive coordinator, healthy defense, bigger on the d-line and at linebacker = 8-8 season in my opinion.

Run and stop the run. Good philosophy.

Run and stop the run.

Defense wins championships.

Fundamentals are key.

Ignorant is the night of the mind, but night without moon and star.

Hasn't the past decade proved the whole run and stop the run thing no longer holds water in the NFL?

Teams that win can throw the ball and have QBs that don't make mistakes.

Stopping the run is still pretty fundamental, unless you have a superstar QB.
Top 2009 rushing defenses:
1. Green Bay, 11-5, playoffs
2. Minnesota, 12-4, playoffs
3. Pittsburgh, 9-7
4. Dallas, 11-5, playoffs
5. Baltimore, 9-7, playoffs
6. San Fran, 8-8
7. Cincinnati, 10-6, playoffs
8. NY Jets, 9-7, playoffs
9. Philadelphia, 11-5, playoffs
10. Atlanta, 9-7

Notice neither Superbowl team is in that list.

Like I said, superstar QBs. Not just good passing games.

Buffalo Bills Cliche Countdown: Nose For The Football (http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2010/7/1/1544852/buffalo-bills-cliche-countdown)
"He's got a nose for the football." It's said about every player who gets his team multiple turnovers. The Buffalo Bills could certainly use more of those players.

Buffalo Bills Cliche Countdown: Welcome to the NFL (http://www.buffalorumblings.com/2010/7/2/1546918/buffalo-bills-cliche-countdown)
When an NFL rookie looks like he's in over his head, takes a big hit, or gets chewed out by his coach, the first thing usually out of the announcer's mouth is "welcome to the NFL."
