I found this interesting:
. . . . Although he played in the preseason, Bills starting tight end Jay Riemersma is still not secure yet for the season. The team may yet ask him to accept a reduction in base salary. . . .

I know it's just a little rumor, but we could be making a run at a DT. Any thoughts?

This was in another thread Casdhf. I think it is just Clayton rambling on.
BTW.....are you at FSU still?

HMMMMMMMMMM........Pasquarelli is a budy of TD's from his ESPN days. Maybe there is something to this?

Could be, I hope not, we need a TE that can catch, Moore is definately more of a blocker

At the time this was written, August 30th, I think it was a possibility but now, just days away from the opener, I highly doubt the Bills would cut JR. As you said the Bills need a TE that can catch, JR knows the system and it doesn't make sense to bring in someone else that doesn't know the system especially after the Bills signed Geason. Its not reasonable that the Bills would have 2 out 3 players at one position that they were teaching the system to just days before the opener.

The Bills are about $3 mil under the cap...I cannot see them cutting JR just to save money.

If they don't need him and JR know it, then the Bills have some leverage to ask for him to take a pay cut. If the Bills cut him outright, he won't get more than the Min, so a $2 mil cut would be better for him than saying no.

I'm with you, he isn't gonna get that kinda money anywhere

If Riemersma is catching balls and having a significant role in the offence the rumors will go away. If he continues to have the dropsies like last year, they'll only grow.
