Some fans appear to be acting just like Michael Vick - they never learn.

What exactly has this guy done in the last three years that means he's worth anything on the field or off it? They guy obviously has no clue how to stay out of trouble.

But I think he is done, obviously he hasn't learned form his mistakes.

Doesn't the article say they aren't thinking of cutting him? Did he have anything to do with this shooting other than he was in the vicinity?

I guess it's just a coincidence that his homie and dog fighting co-defendant was at the same club as Vick the night of Vick's birthday party. Maybe the guy's being shot 3 minutes after Vick left is unrelated to Vick, but his being at the birthday party seems pretty suspicious. Vick is supposed to have no contact with his co-defendants.

How can you say that. Name a running QB that doesn't get injured, fumble too much, or take too many sacks because they think they can get out of everything.

And they are racking up the superbowls. Everyone hacks on Buffalo for 4 straight but no one mentions Philly and 5 losses in 6 NFC championship games and no superbowls.

Steve Young

Fran Tarkenton

that said, i'm with you about Vick... he's not a good qb. i just don't think you can blanket claim all scramblers suck.

I would argue that there is a difference between someone who scrambles but still intends to throw as opposed to someone who's first instinct is to drop the ball and run. All those guys you mentioned would buy time to throw not if the first read isn't there to bail and try to get the first down with their feet.

last year was the time to take vick because we were desperate, we were shooting stuff in the dark to see what stuck and vick was an unknown entity.

This year, we have a fresh start, we seemingly have a logical plan, and we saw that vick wasn't so hot last year. He never wowed anyone with highlight reel plays in his limited action.

The bills seem to want to give the crew a chance to prove themselves or be 100% justified in going another direction next year.

All that points to the idea that vick is a bad idea for the team regardless of his off field issues.

The guy who snitched is the bad guy? How about physically drowning animals because they can't tear the **** out of the other animals. I think that's pretty bad. You're making out like Vick is a victim here. I've been places where someone comes uninvited and starts mouthing off, no one gets shot.

Elway only played 7 full seasons out of 16, was sacked over 500 times in 234 games played and fumbled at a rate higher than .5 per game.

Young while he was the fulltime starter played 3 full seasons out of 8, was sacked 358 times in 169 games and fumbled at a rate just lower than .5 per game

Tarkenton is your only good example of a guy who wasn't hurt or didn't fumble...although he was also sacked over twice a game since the NFL started counting sacks.

Vicks sack rate is right in line with the above 3 guys..187 sacks taken in 86 games...fumble rate is a big higher than Elway. And rate of starting games is right around Steve Youngs.

I'll throw in Cunningham, who some people think was a good scrambling QB, Only played 3 full seasons in his entire career. Was sacked over 3 times a game. And fumbled at the same rate Vick has thus far.

The question with Vick isn't his physical ability, he has plenty of that to succeed in the NFL. He leads his teams to wins, always has in his career. It's not done the prototypical way nor is it always pretty but he gets it done. His biggest knock is maturity.

He's well worth the risk of taking him, if the Eagles do release him, for four reasons. 1. He'll come cheap. 2. He may play like he has something to prove. 3. Our Qbs are flat out garbage. 4. and most importantly in my own opinion. He is a winner.

Thanks for backing up my point with research I was too lazy to do. I agree with everything, except the get Vick part.

you would still have to develop Vick. With that being said I'd rather save the roster spot and develop Levi. Besides, we already have Spiller, Fred , Lynch and Bell. Don't need another runningback.
