Blocking assignments an early test for rookie
At times during this week's minicamp, Ravens coaches have called out running back Musa Smith's name in agony.
Coaches want so much for Smith, the Ravens' third-round selection out of Georgia, to get his blocking assignments down during these non-contact workouts so he can run the ball without hesitation in pads later.
"You heard his name," offensive coordinator Matt Cavanaugh said. "He busted up some protections. But he's like a lot of young guys. You've got to be careful how judgmental you get. He's a rookie who has real good running skills, is tough and good with the ball in his hands...more
