View Full Version : Blue throwbacks vs. Jets and Steelers; no whiteys

From Chris Brown's blog:

The team will be wearing their blue throwbacks twice this season. The white throwbacks that debuted last season unfortunately are not allowed to be worn. They are prohibited under NFL rules because they were an anniversary year jersey (50th anniversary of AFL).

So the blue throwbacks will be worn in Week 4 (Oct. 3) when the Bills host the Jets, in part to honor newest Wall of Famer Booker Edgerson, whose induction ceremony will take place that week.

The other date for the blue throwbacks is in Week 12 (Nov. 28) when the Bills host the Steelers.

i am a huge fan of both the white and blue throwbacks...they are 100x nicer looking than either the current home or away jerseys...they're just a mess.

I simply don't understand why the Bills keep the same old tired uniforms year in and year out, arguably the ugliest in the league while only wearing nice uniforms 2ice a year.

The throwback blues and whites should be our full time uniform. Keeping our current helmets.

I agree, but I would rather see the white helmet with the charging Buffalo than the red.

I would prefer the entire throwback ensemble.

This one was my favorite as well.

The 1982 uniform version brought back permanently would be ideal.

We don't NEED anything to complain about with this team. There are a number of things that could be complained about.

The current uniforms are not only ugly, but the Bills have been terrible since they went to these.

I say go back to the throwbacks & get rid of the bad karma the Bills have had since they started wearing this crap.

Fact.

10 years with this uniform set.

10 years of no post season.

Similar to the Sabres erasing the goathead trying to move on from the "Rigas" era which ended poorly, perhaps the Bills should try to do the same and erase the thought of Gregg Williams, Mularkey, Jauron, McGahee, Mike Williams, etc.

Nobody said it was all the jersey (the pants are ugly also), but it is a fact that the Bills have sucked since they started wearing these ugly things.

I would bet if a poll were started to keep the current unis or not the vote would be in favor to get rid of them.........by a lot.

The goathead is the last logo to make it to the finals.

The goathead is the last logo to make it to the finals.

Which was also over 10 years ago.

And is closely associated with the Rigas family's ownership of the team and their theft of millions of dollars from Adelphia.

i loved the "goathead" jerseys. not better than the early 90's jerseys but much better than the buffalo slugs.

I don't give a crap about Adelphia. I only care about the Cup. My statement stands.

The one they got closest to. The only definition of success.

Not any closer than 74-75 against Philly.

The Jets and Steelers will wear their normal aways.

The throwbacks are ok, though I wish they could wear the 1980 jerseys and helmet this year.

I'm always amazed at the amount of discussion that uniforms get on here. I could care less what color/design the Bills wear. I don't think it has a single thing to do with their success - or lack thereof - on the field.

I agree, but this team is so dreadful in so many different ways you might as well talk about the aesthetics of the team
What else is there to talk about? Trent Edwards? Brian Brohm?

I don't believe anyone has said the uniform adds or detracts from the Bills success. It's just a matter of preference. I for one, despise their current uni's and wish from the bottom of my heart that they scrap them (soon)!

There have been periods of time throughout the entire history of the Bills where the team was gut-wrenching to watch, regardless of what uniforms they were wearing.
