    What are the odds that Meredith or Wang start over Bell?

    I'd say pretty good.

    I remember a comment from Wood a month or two ago that said Meredith is one of the strongest linemen on the team. Something about how hard he hits the weights and he's a beast athletically.

    I'd say odds are pretty good that this fifth round pick (once predicted to go in the second round) surpasses Bell who, let's face it, wasn't very good last year.

    Or how about Wang? He's more of a long shot, but if you think he is not going to get a chance to start you're crazy. Nix drafted him. He didn't draft Bell. Everyone has a clean slate with a new front office, but at the same time you are going to give the guys you brought in an equal chance.

    So, I'd say the odds are pretty good that Meredith or Wang start at left tackle this year. More likely, Meredith.

    Is that more comforting than Bell? Or are we still ****ed?

            The sky-is-falling crowd likes to think we are devoid of O-line talent. We have plenty of talent. What our guys need is good coaching and time to gel. Forget about last year. Last year was a clusterf**k. What did you expect when you have injuries every week and a new OC a week before the season?

            With better coaching and conditioning, our O-line will improve enough to help us a win more games. Coaching and conditioning!!!

              I've said it all offseason that Meredith will start. In fact, we wont worry bout a LT for a while, RT will be the position we go next year.

                  Wang - 0%, unless the other two are injured and there's nobody left from the waiver wire.

                  Meredith is probably even money.

                    100%, barring injury. It's Meredith's job to lose, considering he's the only one of the 3 that's been practicing AND who has been healthy. Not to mention he showed a lot more than Bell did last year, by not having ANY penalties called against him.

                    As for RT, that will probably be Calloway's next year.

                      Meredith has a great shot to start, since he's been getting all the snaps since spring while Bell is mending.

                      Wang is a raw backup.

                        I think Bell starts if he begins getting reps very soon. Meredith starts if Bell continues to miss significant time due to injury. Wang starts only if Meredith joins Bell in a long term injury situation.
                        Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

                          The odds are very good that Meredith might start. I think Bell is not close to healthy.

                          Wang has zero chance unless someone gets hurt.

                              Haha amazing how the tune changes when Bell still isn't back healthy and all we're hearing is about Meredith bulking up and busting his ass for the LT spot.
