    Corto on the shelf

    Bills safety Jon Corto will not be on the field when practices begin Thursday.

    Corto told reporters upon his arrival at training camp that a pre-existing wrist condition required surgery after spring practices.

    “The injury will keep me out for a few weeks, said Corto. “The 22nd or 23rd is what’s projected, but maybe faster than that. It’s healing very fast and I’m looking forward to the season.”

    Corto is expected to be placed on Actice PUP Thursday.

          If he's on the PUP, that's another roster spot until he gets back, so that would cover for Schobel/Extra Tackle or Guard/Spiller.

            His days are numbered anyways. I see no way he is making this roster this year.

                Probably is a nice guy but I can't see him beating out any of the top-4 safties.

                        I'd rather they cut Corto, or at least put him on IR, and use his roster spot for an extra NT, CB, or WR.

                          This team has sucked for years because we have been too concerned with keeping players for ST rather than keeping them because they could actually play football. If all he is good for is ST, then I'm OK with him being cut.

                              Absolutely agreed. This team is stacked at safety. Nice guy or not, he's going to be a victim of numbers.
