    Spiller Contract Update

    NFL Post's Aaron Wilson is an NFL Insider I consider to be up and coming and he's very well connected especially about rookie deals.

    On Twitter I asked him the following;
    @RavensInsider CJ Spiller Q, is he going to be one of the longest holdouts?

    His answer;
    @Matthewcelder I'm not sure. No deal is imminent with that one. Other first-rounders are much closer to getting done.

    Buckle up fellas this one may take a while.

    Ehh..."insiders" really don't carry too much weight. That being said, I hope he is wrong.

        these rookie contracts are just getting flat out stupid now. shut up and go play football
        The last time the Bills made the playoffs was 1999.

          I think... "i'm not sure"... means I don't know, cause i don't care what the Bills do.

            my opinion is that it doesn't really matter until the guy ahead of spilller signs. if that guy signs and its still at a standstill, then we got problems.

              Aaron is the real deal. I'm not so sure about this @Matthewcelder fella though.

                      McClain signed today, so let's hope that this sets parameters for CJ3K.

                            Nice jump from last years pick (1st round, eighth pick):

                            8. Eugene Monroe OT Jacksonville 5 years, $35.4 million ($19.2M guaranteed)

                            If and when the new CBA is done, I sure hope a "real" rookie cap is implemented. The amount of guaranteed money and contract sizes have been ridiculous for quite some time.

                              how is it that spiller is looknig at $19MM in guarantees and Troup got $2.5MM in guarantee. that's a huge drop off from one round to the next. i doubt 2-3 drops quite like that.
