On the main page of Sabres.com and Sabres twitter.

Ok, not sure what they are doing.

Op, what do you know about this guy?

I had no idea who this guy was but from what I gather from a friend, he's a "shutdown defenseman, not really here to score points". He's 27 years old and had 13 points last year, one of which was a goal.

Tough guy, played a whole year in 08' with a broken jaw and separated shoulder

Definitely not a scorer, but definitely tough.

He doesn't have the PIM to be a consistent fighter, but I do remember him being in a couple of fights, so he will throw down defensively. I'll ask some Caps fans about him and get back to you with some opinions (although there are only 1 or 2 whose opinions I actually trust- the rest are just Ovechkin ball-lickers).

8 d-men on the roster? hmmm

looks like he was the odd man out with some young d-men coming up here in Washington.

He's largely regarded as a "stay at home" defender, which is good because it gives me ulcers when Montador and Sekera attempt to join the rush. Leave that for Myers.

Another "big hitter", "tough as nails guy"....the guy has never had a "minus" year...I'm not upset.

I am wondering if this is a plan B move after Andy Sutton signed with Anaheim.

Career +26. Two year deal at $1.75M per.
Hits, blocks shots, sticks up for his team mates.

Ryan Miller just creamed his pants.

Two year deal at $1.75M per.

Probably why Kennedy was let go.

What?

Somebody to do something when Miller gets rushed?
.... On the Sabres?

Probably why Kennedy was let go.

Yeah, because they were so close to the cap. [sarcasm]

Big guy, and a big hitter. Sounds ok to me.

Andrew Peters replacement?

Terrible comparison. This isn't a goon. He will eat up minutes.

I don't know that much about hockey to be honest.

I didn't know much about Morrisonn when the signing took place but everything I've read sounds like this is a very good signing by the team.
