All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
Please use this thread to report any issues you come across

Spiller deal could be done this week or early next week
Mon, 02 Aug 2010 18:50:43 -0400 Buffalo Bills RB C.J. Spiller, the team's first-round draft choice, remains unsigned. During an interview on ESPNews, Allen Wilson, of The Buffalo News, said he believes a deal could be completed toward the end of the week or by early next week. He said the two sides have moved forward in negotiations, but they still are not where they need to be.
Re: Spiller deal could be done this week or early next week
Isn't the writing on the wall for both sides at this point? Picks above and below him have signed, so there should be some obvious middle ground upon which to strike a deal.
Re: Spiller deal could be done this week or early next week
Why do the Bills have so much trouble? Are we low-balling or are players so averse to playing here they give the team a hard time, hoping we give up?

Re: Spiller deal could be done this week or early next week
i thought the hang up with this is that the escalators in spillers contract might be too hard for him in a crowded backfield. so that's the issue.
he doesn't want to sign and have no chance of hitting incentives he knows he could get if he was the featured back from the get go. he's leaving money on the table.
the bills don't want to provide low balled numbers.
i don't think this is the fault of anyone, it's just hte reality of this situation.

Asked if it was too early to make a public announcement about negotiations, Nix said: "Well, it's not too early. It might be late even."

i can't imagine the bills screwing with the slotting of salaries. i really think this is a savy kid and an agent saying, "we aren't getting what we want because we know we aren't going to hit any of hte incentives the first year."
and i'm sure the bills will say, "the longer you sitout, the less snaps you get, so get with it and take the standard offer."
I think bills fans have a threshold of last 3 picks to sign. after that, we really put you in a "need to be a superstar".
and where is this money chris brown mentioned with schobel gone. throw the 6 mm at him and let's get this thing done.
