    BillsZone Training Camp Report: 8/7/2010

It was Day 10 of Buffalo Bills Training Camp at St. John Fisher College. This was the thirteenth practice in a row for the team without a day off. The players continued to practice in full pads and this time worked even harder as Coach Gailey added some full contact drills to the schedule. The team worked on 7-on-7, 11-on-11 and even some punting drills, in addition to lots of individual drills. They also ended practice with live hitting, including tackling to the ground during short yardage situations and goal-line drills. This definitely brought more excitement to the packed stands as cheers and applause were heard several times.

As always, the team started out the day working in their individual drills. Coach Gailey likes to give a lot of time for his assistant coaches to teach the fundamentals and techniques to the players. Each day, the players separate into groups and stretch with their units. The players then work on individual drills that pertain to their positions. If they struggle with a certain drill, the coach will get right in their face and explain what they are doing wrong and show them. The players then get another chance to show that they understand. It is this extra position work that should help each player become better as camp goes on. Coach Gailey likes to walk around to each group and observe and sometimes add things if he doesn't like what he sees. He also pats players on the back and congratulates them if they did a good job. It's really nice to see this hands on coaching............

Question: Who do you see making it from the WRs? I'm rooting for Roosevelt. I don't hear his name much but when I do it's for a good catch.

It's going to be a tough one. I honestly loved David Nelson and had him as a sleeper until he got injured. Now I'm not sure. I think Roosevelt will be on the PS though.

Hmmm. You really think Hardy makes it? No Chad Jackson love?

Also talk about Roosevelt and Donald Jones both seem to be fighting for a potential PS squad spot any opinion on who has looked better?

With Spiller signing has Bell seen his carries decrease or did the Simpson injury help him maintain the same amount of carries?

for now...but Easley could overtake Hardy and knock him off the team once he's healthy.

there is no doubt Hardy makes the team this year IMO.. Who are you going to give that roster spot to..

he's 6'7" keeping him for red zone O alone makes him worth keeping this year... Plus he's pretty much over his hernia surgery so he is starting to show some flashes

Roosevelt has been better. Whenever he's gotten the ball, he's made some nice catches. Jones is definitely farther on the depth chart, IMO.

As for Bell. Simpson's injury helped him out. It made it much easier for Spiller to get carries. He's been getting carries with both the backups and the starters already. Bell is still getting his chances, but when Simpson comes back, it will definitely hurt him. Although I think they may cut Simpson first. We dont need another KR.

I'm hearing a lot of good buzz about Chad Jackson, even as a potential starter. Certainly more than Hardy or Easley

Chad Jackson has gotten a ton of reps. I've been impressed with him. Hardy's still bothered by his injury that he had surgery on, a little bit. Easley has been out of practice due to an injury. Jackson is definitely taking advantage.
