I don't have a problem with this.

a) some of these guys are healthy enough to be playing if it was a regular season game
b) some of these guys are coming off pre-existing injuries
c) some of these guys are scrubs that won't make the team
d) most importantly...this is football weed out the ones that can't stay healthy

They're going to hold guys out for precautionary reasons in the preseason. You think a starting offensive tackle in the NFL is going to miss a regular season game for a "muscle tweak?"

Nothing to worry about. Poz, Green and Schou will play Game 1 barring catastrophy, Wood is precautionary. There's no need to risk injury to these guys. The preseason is for young guys to show what they can do, and also to see how your team can click.

Worried about game 1, not fake game 1.

It is much better this way, these guys are not used to hitting this early, so instead of everyone going down week one we get all the bumps and bruises out of the way early. Guys play banged up all season.

Actually, there is a reason to risk injury: practice in the new system. It's a balance between risking injury and risking being unprepared. I don't know if they are striking the right balance or not, but this team needs all the practice it can get.

Guys, it happens every preseason...if you're even remotely dinged up, there's no way they're gonna put you out there.

Football is a 100% injury sport. Everybody gets hurt, the only questions are

How bad
How often
How do they react and recover

The healthiest teams make it. But none are completely healthy.

http://billsdaily.com/images/blueball.gif Jairus Byrd was not present at practice on Tuesday. All Chan Gailey would say is that it was a physical complication but it isn't a serious thing and should be resolved quickly. http://billsdaily.com/images/updated.gif 8/17

Carrington missed about 2 practices total and was back on the field Tuesday. Schouman was practicing as well. Manalac, if he's still on the team, will go on IR. Wouldn't have made the team anyway. Ramsey, Green, and Sp. Johnson are back practicing. Ellison, Poz, Wood, and Bell will all play some on Thursday.

Why do you have people on here who are practicing again?

Technically, they're included on the injury report, but a good number of them are either practicing again now, or will be back soon.

Guys who we should be concerned about: Byrd, Batten, Wang, Easley, Jackson. Everyone else is either partially back, fully back, or should return soon. And everyone but Easley should return within 1-2 months.
