Can we please stop making excuses for our quarterbacks?

Honestly, if Edwards and Fitz haven't developed into reliable starters yet, they never will. We constantly hear the excuses.

    The offensive line is awful.
    The coaching staff was awful.

    Blah, blah, blah.

Ben Rapesberger won the Super Bowl with statistically the worst line in football.

All I ask is that we don't make excuses anymore. If Trent doesn't have it, he doesn't have it. Fitz is what he is, and that's a backup QB.

I'm not going to make excuses for Brohm either. The guy was beat out by a seventh round rookie. But at least he has a clean slate in Buffalo. The other two have played here and they have failed here. It's time to move on. If Brohm sucks, so be it. At least we didn't try pushing the square peg in the round hole over and over and over again.

We tried the triangle instead. And that's admirable for a ******ed franchise. At least they tried something different instead of continuing to try the same thing over and over again.

Edwards is in the final year of his contract. Don't tell me you want to re-sign this guy to a starter level contract!?

And no, I'm not overreacting after one preseason game. I'm suitably reacting after many years of watching this team and their "QBs".

You'd think this fanbase would be experts on bad QBs by now.

But instead we latch on to one and make excuses for their mistakes and failures.

So please, just stop with the excuses.

Edwards looked pretty good that first drive. After that, not so much.
Fitzpatrick was God awful those first 5-6 throws. Then he threw a TD against the third string D. Those are the facts. You don't have to break it down and say, "Well the pressure on him would not stop. Well, Evans didn't come back to the ball. Well, we should have run on that play. Well, Fitzpatrick was throwing on the run." etc.

If Brohm or Edwards or both suck on Thursday let's not make excuses.

Now I'm ready for some football on Thursday. Do you think Poz, Wood, Green and Bell will play?

A good QB can hide many flaws on a team.

Our QBs have to be among the worst group in the NFL, maybe the very worst. Add an unsettled O-line, and you have the recipe for a 2 win season.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

At this point, I just hope we suck more than the teams that may need to draft a QB next year. Which, IMO are KC, JAX, SF, ARI, SEA, WAS (If McNabb isn't resigned.

And to be honest,... I think after such a terrible season coming up... Luck may be on it's way. Pun intended.

Sure can. Manning played great behind a rookie LT, (Ugoh) who isn't even starting anymore.

KC- No. Cassel. And they could surprise a bit this year.
                  Jax- Maybe.
SF- Maybe. Smith may develop this year.
Ari- No. Not until they ditch Leinhart, too much tied up in him. And they will likely be better than us.
                  Sea- Maybe.
Wasd- No. They will resign McNabb.

Thats only two out of that list and teams like STL, Det, and Clev are no's on a QB. I only see Jax as a sure fire team with a QB need.

McShay has his first mock order like this:

                  1) Bills
                  2) Rams
                  3) Chiefs
                  4) TB
                  5) Clev
                  6) Car
                  7) NE- from Oak
                  8) Det
                  9) Jax

I think its pretty realistic. I hope were not that bad, but we could be. I think we end up with a top 5 pick, I hope Im wrong. The only one who needs a QB and may stink it up worse that McShay has it is Jax. They may end up top 3.

I think we may have a legit shot at the #1 QB in the draft.

These guys are as bad as Joe Dufek, Bruce Mathison, and Willie Totten. I like Levi Brown though, I really do.

Brohm was not beat out by a rookie 7th rounder.

                              I agree.

I'm praying Brohm shows something in his 2 quarters of work against Indy or we'll need to dream of a waiver aquisition.

I can only imagine Gailey watching the QB tape of last nights game and wanting to throw up in his Okra.
