Our own ExtremeBillsFan 247 looks at one of this season's positives:

If you talk to the average Bills fan, most have probably heard the name George Catavolos. The 26 year veteran coach was one of the only coaches retained by General Manager Buddy Nix once the new regime took over in Buffalo. An outsider looking in would probably be asking, “Well, why this guy?”. “This team has been terrible under the Jauron era”. “Why not fire everyone and start over?”
One bright spot of last season that was the defensive backfield. Finishing 2nd in the NFL in Yards allowed per game and interceptions was an astounding feat, given the fact that the defense as a whole averaged over 32 minutes on the field per game. With the dysfunctional family that was the coaching staff under Dick Jauron, a performance like that is a credit to Catavolos and the defensive backfield that was under his tutelage.

With most of those players returning in 2010, Catavolos seemed like a natural fit, and was called upon by Head Coach Chan Gailey to continue his work as the Bills' defensive backs coach. The Bills' switch to a 3-4 defense, a defense known for being tough against the run and blitzing schemes, should play to Catavolos' strengths. Early indications out of training camp this year are that the defensive backfield will be just as good, if not better, than it was last year.
If there is a brighter side to the upcoming season for the Bills, you can pretty much bet the house that the defensive backfield of the Buffalo Bills will be one, thanks to one George Catavolos.
