The low point for Carolina Panthers free safety Deon Grant came in last season's 30-0 loss in Atlanta, when then-defensive coordinator Jack Del Rio pulled him from the game following a blown assignment just before halftime.
"I'd never ever been benched playing ball," he said recently after a Panthers' practice. "That was the first time, but I learned from it. I know Jack pulled me for a reason; I guess he was fed up with what was going on.
"It didn't get me down. I didn't lose any confidence in my game or the coaches. It just meant that I had to pick my game up."...
