View Full Version : Byrd Complication

Read on TBD that a poster there had information that the "complication" with Byrd was related to his hernia surgery.

Apparently the complication was bad enough that it is requiring surgery, and he may miss 4-6 weeks.

Don't have anything concrete, and no link, just speculation. I felt that this was a serious enough issue to warrant a speculation thread.

Just got some information about Jarius and it doesn't sound too good. Apparently he is having complications from the sports hernia surgery from last year and he is getting surgery today here in Philadelphia to repair it. Unfortunately, from my source, he will likely miss up to 6 weeks.

This is his quote...in a later post he names the hospital and says that JB was about to go under the knife.

Dude seems like a reliable poster. No flight tracking.

Not gonna worry about it until there is confirmation, but if it's true, this team is officially cursed. It means 3 of our 6 best players got hurt in one preseason game.

Gailey seemed to think it wasn't a big deal yesterday after practice. This really blows if true.

Is it basketball season yet?

Having just gone through a double hernia repair, I can say with confidence that if he did re-open the same injury, it's going to take longer to heal than the first go-round and it's going to bother him for at least a year after it's "fixed"

How long until someone calls him a bust because he can't stay healthy?

For crissakes, can anything ever go right for this team?

Meh.

Could be true. For now it is a message board rumor.

I was hoping the same, but from what my source told me, it sounds pretty painful. He is in Hahnemann Hospital here in Philly, which is one of 3 sports hernia specialist locations in the country and he was apparently about to go under the knife. <!--IBF.ATTACHMENT_1937078--> subsequent post.

I agree it's a message board rumor, but worth keeping an eye on. I mean, I have the window open, but I'm not on the ledge yet or anything.

I just recently had a double hernia repair myself and you couldn't be more right. I am still recovering from that non-sense.

Well may Jairus will follow ROY Cushing's lead and use a little HGH. That should help him heal faster...and give him a nice set of boobies to play with in his downtime.

Amen. I've spent 3 years trying to get rid of MRSA, so that I could get a second hip replacement.

Byrd's career is over..my cousin is a surgeon and said a professional athlete that has to play at that level and rely on speed and agility and mobility would have too much scar tissue after 3 surgeries and will never be the same..

I believe this to be true, I think we can kiss Byrd goodbye.

lol the guy is our best player on the team for 3/4 of a season and is a superstar in the making...of course something like this has to happen to him! why wouldn't it? he's on the bills!

I think it's just a bit premature to declare Byrd's career over.

Probably not. But his short career is colored by playing in the Bills' emphasis on the Cover 2 scheme. Some have noted a certain lack of run support, others speak of his good hands in grabbing a deflection.

I hope he recovers, to hopefully become an all-around player.

Perhaps, but it does not look good.
