Things I Hope to See
Trent Edwards taking strides
After a promising drive to start the first preseason game, Trent reverted back to his old self and looked indecisive and unconfident. If he's going to grab ahold of the starting QB job, he's going to need to show some consistency, take a few shots, and show some sort of presence in the pocket.
CJ Spiller staying healthy
Who thinks taking a running-back early was stupid now? You never can have too many talented players at one position - if you're the Bills, at least. I'll be watching CJ especially close on runs between the tackles against a team that was not very good against the run last year. That being said, I'll take a 0 yard performance from the rook if it means that he's injury-free through the game.
George Wilson covering for Byrd
The Bills have been a huge pain in the groin the last decade or so, but now one of their best defensive players seems to be suffering from a chronic injury to said region. Luckily, the Bills are deep in the secondary and have an accomplished FS backing up last year's DROY runner-up.
Demetrius Bell looking spry
Jamon Meredith did, by all accounts, an admirable job in the first preseason game as the starting LT. Hopefully Bell can take the next step in his recovery and look competent at game-speed. Not only would that allow Meredith to focus his efforts on the RT position, but it helps sure up an offensive line that lacks in talent and depth.
