I hear alot of talk bout how much people hate on Kelsay, but read this quote from Brown

On Ellis
"he’s progressed nicely with his pass drops and is pushing veteran starter Chris Kelsayhttp://www.buffalobills.com/assets/nflimg/icon-article-link.gif (http://www.buffalobills.com/team/roster/chris-kelsay/4238a78a-b268-46ce-9967-565fdebbe68d/). A solid performance against Indy would only help his cause."

Does this mean Ellis actually has a legit shot at starting?

Kelsay is fighting for a spot tonight. Not to mention his salary compared to Ellis'

Kelsay shoulda been cut when the system was changed to a 3-4.

His only use would be a pass rush LB...he offers zero in pass rush and never has.

I totally agree. Which makes me think: why were we drafting 3-4 players to play in a 4-3? I know this has been discussed before, but it infuriates me.

I hope so because I have some real doubts about Kelsay's ability to drop in coverage or cover RBs out of the backfield.... I mean c'mon, the guy was stiff for a DE now he's going to play OLB???

I would imagine that for the most part, Kelsay would play on running downs and Ellis on passing downs, so I'm not sure who "starts" matters all that much. It'll be a rotation.

Go Ellis!!!!!! Get that loser Kelsay out of here.

It looked to me like every time Kelsay was in there he was down on all fours blitzing.

Kelsay might be nearing the end of our misery (in regards to his mediocre play anyway), as I thought Ellis looked really good tonight, creating lots of havoc and was around the ball a lot.

Kelsay didn't really get to line up in a conventional 34 because of Indy's 3-wide offense.

Our OLB's are not good, at all.

Torbor, and then a bunch of wanna-be's and wishful thinking.

I thought Kelsay played pretty well tonight.

Looks like they played a lot of four down linemen, so Kelsay may still have a role here.

It's the end result of "best player available" philosophy. You end up with a bunch of players that don't fit your system.
