    Quarterback Smith impressed with New Orleans visit

    Akili Smith has contract offers to join the Jets, Packers and Saints, but the free-agent quarterback looked and sounded Thursday like a man ready to wear a black and gold fleur de lis.

    On the final stop of a four-day three-city tour, Smith looked right at home with Saints players and coaches during his visit to camp Thursday afternoon.

    Smith did not work out. He met with members of the coaching staff and front office and watched the club's two-hour practice, the 10th of 12 coaching-session workouts, which conclude Wednesday.

    Between snaps, Smith discussed the offensive checks and play calls with starting quarterback Aaron Brooks. He visited with Saints backup running back Curtis Keaton, whom he played with for three seasons in Cincinnati.

    After the workout, offensive assistants Hubbard Alexander, Dave Atkins and Mike Sheppard shared a laugh with him as he exited the field
