View Full Version : An observation about CJ Spiller

One thing I have noticed about the way that CJ Spiller runs...

He always holds the ball in his right hand, even when he is running to the left.

I like the way he cradles the ball, but there is the concern that he could get hit on the ball when he is running left. Not that anyone could get a solid shot on him the way he moves.

I'm too lazy to look it up, but what is his history of putting the ball on the ground/

Just wondering.

This guy reminds me a lot of Barry Sanders in the way that he can stop, hop, juke, and accelerate quickly. The difference is that his top speed is way better than Sanders. I am excited about this kid.

never fumbled in college. Not once.

And the one time I noticed this as well he ended up moving it to the left arm before someone was near him.

My wallpaper is his TD run. He's carrying the ball in his left arm. I think he's good to go. One of the more complete playmakers we've had in years.

oh god....this is like that stat where the sabres didn't lose when leading after 2 periods....and promptly did it in the first game in the playoffs.

He's going to put the ball on the ground in this league at some point. Haven't noticed the ball-carrying habit myself, have to look for it against Cincinnati.

His history of ball security, is as good as you would want it to be atm. However he has been holding the football, has worked. ;)

Joique's ball security is the issue, not CJs.

I'm pretty sure Emmitt Smith held the ball on his right hand only, too. He did ok.

so you have seen him play one game as a Bill and that means he ALWAYS holds it in his right hand?

Noticed the same thing.. He doesn't naturally put the ball on the outside.. However, I noticed that the coaches aren't trying to force him into it either.. which is fine. Have him practice it enough and it will become second nature eventually.

For some reason it wasn't officially counted in the stats.

But, oh boy. He fumbled once in his whole college career. Whoop de doo.

Whoop de doo is right, but I wasn't the one arguing with me :usflag:
