I mentioned LJ Smith and Ben Troupe in another thread. Not sure about either's health.

if this is acurate i wouldn't mind any of these fallas:

Steve Heiden

Billy Miller

Anthony Fasano is listed as a RFA but if he is available i wouldn't mind looking into him

Casey Fitzsimmons can run block

lj smith if he is healthy

After watching Heiden play for a few years he would be a good addition.

He can block a little and gets open downfield.

Sadly, I think he would be an improvement over what we have at the position outside of maybe Nelson. Nelson may develop into something special.

Nelson has star potential but this is a setback for him. I'd like to know what happened. He says that it wasnt illeagal and that Buddy and Gailey agree. :idunno: Could be a lie.

I liked him before the draft, but I think he's injured.

I'd consider bringing Campbell back, if he isn't hurt. Maybe Gaines also.

NOT THE DUDE...

I liked him before the draft, but I think he's injured. If he was cut, then he isn't injured-- the NFL doesn't allow it.

They released him with an injury settlement.

OK, that makes more sense.

Here is a list of all of last year's UDFA TE's;
Ballard Jake TE Ohio State Giants
Banks Leroy TE Southern Miss Falcons
Brockel Richard TE Boise State Chargers
Devenny Patrick TE Colorado Seahawks
Farr Dajleon TE Memphis Chargers
George Andrew TE BYU Panthers
Harmon Jason TE FAU Jaguars
Harris Gerald TE Ole Miss Titans
Mangam Wes TE McNeese State Vikings
Mastrud Jeron TE Kansas St. Browns
McCoy Jamie TE Texas A&M Rams
Palmer Michael TE Clemson Falcons
Paulsen Logan TE UCLA Redskins
Peek Colin TE Alabama Falcons
Pfahler Steven TE Montana Titans
Ryan Mitch TE San Diego Giants
Tow-Arnett Nick TE Minnesota Cowboys
Wagner Troy TE Indiana Browns
Boone Greg TE Va Tech Browns
Carey Craig TE Cinci Bears
Caussin Mike TE JMU Jaguars
Cottam Jeff TE Tennessee Bengals
Cumberland Jeff TE Illinois Jets
Dickson Richard TE LSU Lions
Drake T.C. TE Kentucky Chiefs
Overbay Nathan TE Eastern Washington Broncos

Of those names a few jump out at me;
Nathan Overbay-WAS
Jeff Cumberland-NYJ
Micheal Palmer-ATL
Mike Caussin-JAX

Overbay is from E. Washington intially and put up good numbers there, also had a nice long catch down the seam in the Senior Bowl. Not overly athletic or a great blocker but he has good hands and runs solid routes.

Cumberland is an athletic freak of a TE out of Illinois at 6'5, 255 he is a former WR who has converted to TE. He is atrocious as a blocker and has work ethic questions but when he is tuned in he can play. He has made some noise at Jets camp though so he may not be available. He has 2 catches for 19 yards thus far this preseason.

Micheal Palmer is a TE similar to Overbay but is a much sounder blocker. He has 3 catches for 18 yards this preseason and may also make the Falcons.

Mike Caussin is a product of the Dukes who also produced ILB Arthur Moats. Caussin leads all rookie TE's this preseason with 3 catches for 41 yards.

I'd rather bring in a vet.
