Anyone else watching him play? I know it's preseason but he looks excellent for a late round rookie. I think he's better than alex smith.

Originally posted by psubills62He's not a rookie, he's in his second year in the league. Reportedly has looked bad in TC, there's a reason David Carr is comfortable as the #2.
I've heard that he's looked fantastic and is the #2 and that Carr is on his way out the door.

49ers coach Mike Singletary was "very disappointed" with the play of No. 3 quarterback Nate Davis in Sunday night's exhibition game.
Davis showed outstanding arm strength on a 65-yard bomb to Ted Ginn, but blew "several" protection calls and is clearly not pushing David Carr to be Alex Smith's primary backup. Singletary called out Davis' work ethic after the game: "I don't think he's put himself in a position to really compete. There's a lot to like about him, but there is a work ethic that's involved in terms of being a quarterback in the NFL and he's got to get it. It's as simple as that."Last edited by psubills62; 08-23-2010, 08:42 AM."Misguided political correctness tethers our intellects."

Sorry Carr is more ready for backup work than Fitz or Brohm.Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?
