A huge thank you to JCBills for snagging this interview....great work! :bf1:

Rookie wide receiver David Nelson has been generating some buzz in
training camp and preseason; regularly making plays in practice, as well
as putting together a strong showing in his professional debut. The
BillsZone community had questions for David, and, as he is very connected
with his fans, he was nice enough to answer. Here's what the promising
young rookie had to say:

BZ: During your time with the Gators, the team was constantly under the media microscope. What was it like playing on such a big stage with so much pressure all the time?

DN: It was tough, but fun at the same time. Every week we played we had to be on our game. For some people, they thrive under pressure. If anything else, it has prepared me for my future because I learned how to handle the pressure and perform under it.

BZ: How has the transition from the SEC to the NFL been for you so far?

DN: I think playing in the SEC definitely got me ready for the next level. I'm not saying its similar, because it's not, but the speed and competition of the SEC is second to none at the college level. Every week you are going against a corner who will be drafted in the first few rounds within the next few years. The talent pool in that conference is amazing, and playing against that type of caliber players will do nothing but make you better.

BZ: How did it feel to catch the game winning touchdown in the National Championship?

DN: Amazing. Words cannot describe the emotions and feelings going through my body at that time. Everything I had worked for in my entire life was all worth it just for that one moment. I still get goosebumps thinking about it and hopefully will for a long time!

BZ: Have the rookies been getting it rough from the vets so far, on and off the field?

DN: Not too bad, not nearly as bad as imagined. A couple guys had to get up and sing their school's fight song and/or tell a joke. I've had to carry Lee Evans' pads off the field a couple times. Other than that, the hazing hasn't been bad at all.

BZ: Who has been giving you the toughest match-up in practice?

DN: All of our DB's present a challenge each and every play. They were one of the best secondaries in the AFC for a reason. We have a lot of talent on that side of the ball, and every one of them brings something different to the table.

BZ: Practice reports are saying you're getting some reps with the first unit, have the coaches told you how they plan on using you?

DN: We haven't discussed that and to be honest, I'm not really worried about that. My mindset right now is to go out everyday and get better, make plays, and help this team win. If I can do all three things consistently, then everything else will fall into place.

BZ: What do you think the strongest aspect of your game is, and what are you looking to improve on most?

DN: I think the strongest aspect of my game is my knowledge of the game and my route running. I am trying to improve on being a more physical receiver, and using my size to my advantage.

BZ: Thank you for your time David, good luck in the upcoming season.

He looks the part on the field.
He didnt seem to make any major mistakes.
Use to pass happy offence.

Don't know why he fell down draft boards.
Easily better then Hardly.
I hope he has a roll in offence.
