Does anyone want Fred Jackson to start still?

I mean its likely that Spiller will start for the Fins with Fred just coming back from injury, IMO. And Spiller has shown he can be special. His blocking needs work, but has Spiller shown enough to become the starter?

If he starts the Fins game, as I predict, and plays well by making a few big plays and a TD or two... He may just own that starting job and not look back.

Another hypothetical, IF Spiller takes over the starting spot, and one of our other two back has to get traded....who do you keep? Fred J who has great balance and vision to make something out of nothing (but getting older) or Marshawn, the one that can pound the rock into the endzone at the goalline?

I think Marshawn has better trade value due to his age vs. Jacksons age. Jackson has been a success story for us and a good guy both on and off the field. Yet Lynch has had all the issues. I would move Lynch. Im still not convinced we move anyone.

I would keep Lynch... i have a feeling when he gets back on the field we will see him return to the talent we saw when we drafted him
I feel a win streak coming and a Bills Playoff Run!!!

The trade stuff wasn't the point of this thread.

Do you think Spiller should start?

Start Spiller, keep Jackson, trade Lynch. Spiller is going to be a superstar if we don't ruin him.

I don't really care who is on the field for the first play...I do know I don't want Spiller touching the ball more than 250-270 times this season. 14 to 17 touches between rushing and receiving should be fine.

Gailey's going to have a hard time getting all three, or even four, guys on the field.

I have no problem keeping all three. I doubt both Lynch and Jackson will both come back without any lingering issues. I agree with Eb. We dont want Spiller touching the ball 25-30 times a game. He will burn out. I like a 50-50 split. I think if Lynch has his head back in the game he would be a great compliment back for Spiller since since Lynch can punish defenders and soften up for Spiller to break one.

USe all three of the running backs

Why its good for spiller to not take every carry
Increases Marshawns trade value same with fred

keeps them all fresh for the end of the year, (if we make a crazy run)

we have 3 talented RB's i think the coaches know that and will use them all

spiller should not start his blocking is suspect.

he should in 50% of the time or more though

to answer the question, yes. i want fred jackson to start still. he's earned it. spiller will be great, and he'll be a big part of our future, but this is still jackson's time.

Three guys (or more) are going to rotate in and out of that position so the term "Starter" doesn't mean much imo. It's not like the QB or an OL position in which the "Starter" barring injury is there for the duration.

But if you mean who gets the most carries, then it definately should not be Spiller. If anything use him sparingly if at all for the first quarter/ quarter and a half while the D is getting softened up/ fatigued by getting thumped on by FreJack and Lynch...and then unleash the Roadrunner...meep meep.
