So, does anyone have an alternative power source to use in case Earl puts your electric out of commission for a few days?

Don't forget homeowners' insurance and even hurricane insurance, is not sufficient if you're coastal. You need flood insurance.

Stay safe!

I took the axe out of my basement and moved it to the attic, so I can chop through the roof and wait for the police helicopter. We're good to go.

You're asking what's unusual about Earl. I didn't say that anything was.

FWIW, Earl is my middle name so I am kinda proud of this hurricane.

FWIW, latest predictions have Earl just knicking the Outer Banks of NC and some of the VA coast. Barring some major change in the next 36 hours, the impact will be minor.

I'm starting to think Patti is just a tool of the emergency preparedness industry.

Let's scare everyone into buying generators, canned goods and fuel they don't need!

Did you put the axe away?

Nah. It's ignorant to not be prepared.

On the NHC's forecast track they do in fact have the storm skimming along the Carolina coast.

Much ado about nothing.

They're evacuating over nothing! Just like those silly Pakistanis.

meh.

The media just wants us to keep watching. Nothing of consequence is going to happen. The Outer Banks got ****ed out of Labor Day profits, but that's it.
