Anyone Else Scared of our Oline Depth?

I got to say we are putting alot of faith in the fact that often injured Bell and the horrible Cornell Green will stay healthy this season...

Cornell Green is a bum and is gonna get Trent Killed...Meredith should be in there at RT and let Green be the swing tackle..

That being said our Oline Depth is scary bad

Projecting the depth chart on opening day

Kirk Chambers Journeyman
Jamon Meredith Raw
Cordero Howard UDFA
Ed Wang who hasnt even played in pads

and then maybe Sean Allen as a backup C is also a UDFA

we need to get a few vets in here after cuts to solidfy this

An injury to any position and we are in deep deep trouble especially inside

otherwise our offense goes no where

I'm not worried about Cornell Green in terms of depth because he's just as bad as the rest of those scrubs you mentioned.

I am concerned about the other 4, however.

the fact that hangartner and levitre were the most healthy and bell and green both missed time due to injuries last yr

Two unproven UDFA's, and two guys with limited experience are now solid depth guys?

thats more like wishful thinking than fact.

I've paid close attention to these guys in preseason and they definitely have skills. Yeah they don't have the experience but these guys have talent to work with.

if your basis is preseason then the colts are in trouble. These guys you mention haven't faced the likes of Wilfork for on whole game.

I hope you are right but to talk like it's fact even though these guys haven't been tested by playing the top players for 4 quarters is wishful thinking.

all the optimism around here because of a couple preseason games could be squashed rather quickly if wood, levitre or hangartner go down. and if bell or green go down, we have equally as bad backups for them.

I'm very worried about depth there and at LB. and i know i'm going to take heat for this, but the secondary as well. leodis, mcgee, lankster, corner have all had crappy TC and preseason games. I know its a function of zero pass rush, but still, these are the cards we are dealt.

if your basis is preseason then the colts are in trouble. These guys you mention haven't faced the like of Wilfork for on whole game.

or for even a whole series to my knowledge.

Howard, Hennessey, Allen and Meredith are solid depth guys.

I wouldn't call them solid depth but I have watched them and thay have been more solid than people realize.

Temper your optimism here, Allen and Howard being able to take on Joe-Bob McNuttin from Concordia University, isn't going to be the same as them taking on Kris Jenkins.

Could they prove me wrong? Of course and I have high hopes for Allen, not so much for Howard, but to say they are solid now is reaching considering most of the guys they are competing against are at a lower talent level than the guys they played in college.

What I said is that they have shown solid skills to work with. From what I am seeing on video they show good technical skills, strength and movement. Also, they are not playing against Joe Blow McNuttin. Cincinnati is deep on the DL and they were playing against Pat Sims, Carlos Dunlap, Michael Johnson, Gino Atkins, Tank Johnson and Robert Geathers. Those are all good players and provided our second stringers with a more than adequate test.

I'm scared of the starters at both tackle spots more than the depth to be honest.

I don't think there's much, if any, of a dropoff from Meredith or Bell to Chambers.

There is a dropoff on the interior so hopefully those guys can stay healthy.
