All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!

Jim Miller was speculating on Sirius this AM that if Thigpen gets cut Buffalo will pick him up to be the #2, Brown would be #3. Thinks Fitzpatrick would get cut and be a perfect #2 for the Bears as he knows the system well.
Doubt it. As much as I dislike Fitzpatrick, he's actually looked good in the preseason. We'll see if that translates to the regular season, but I don't see why they would pick someone up, force him into the #2 spot without having learned the offense, especially when he's not necessarily an upgrade at the position?
I'm betting it's just because Gailey coached Thigpen previously. I'm not even sure Thigpen is going to get cut. At this point, I think we have as good a chance of us picking up Troy Aikman as our #2 as we do Thigpen.

Please, Hammer, don't hurt 'em. I just wanted to drop the MC Hammer/SNL reference, I am not shooting the messenger.
How does anybody know that, although Gailey got decent production out of Thigpen in KC, that he doesn't ever want to work with him again.
Example: I used to be a GM at a car lot...I could take a sales person that was a pain in the ass, had not real talent, but just didn't talk when I didn't want them to, and they could do 20 cars (equivalent of Thigpen under Gailey.) Sure the guy sold 20 cars, but if I had somebody with any talent in his desk, they could have done 40.
I have never heard Gailey say he was enamored with Thigpen. He got the most he could out of him, when he had to. This is a trend that he has shown over his career. I think he will get Trent to play respectable football, and maybe a good Trent is better than a good Thigpen?
I really don't know, I am just saying that there is constant speculation about Thigpen, and I have not heard evidence that Gailey is crazy about him.

Personally I can't see it, but who knows?
If they have the hots for him, they should be on the phone and working the trade wire, instead of letting him get cut and then available to other clubs.
Every team has to dump decent players, and unless they are idiots, are pounding the phones today about this or that player, to see if they can sell/buy somebody and/or pick up a late round pick.
