All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
There is work to be done and things to be learned. We are going to try to get the old look back - or something close to it. We also know there are bugs. A thread will be started to report bugs and then we can pass those onto the host.
Thank you for all the patience and support with this - hopefully this will greatly reduce the crashes and other site issues we have had lately.
Please use this thread to report any issues you come across

Hmmm, now this is what most Bills fans would rather have as a backup then a guy who's never done anything and never will in this league. Rosenfels has proven his ability to be a very quality backup...something Fitz has never done.

Latest on QB Ryan Fitzpatrick including news, stats, videos, highlights and more on NFL.com
Things Rosenfels has done during a season that Fitzpatrick has not:
1. Thrown for a TD:INT ratio that is higher than 1 [3/5]
2. Had a 60+% completion percentage. [3/5]
3. Thrown for more than 6.3 yards per attempt. [5/5]
4. Had a QB rating better than 70.0 [4/5]
The numbers in the brackets are the number of seasons (out of 5 seasons where he threw enough passes to be relatively significant - in this case, 39 attempts) that Rosenfels achieved those numbers.. If you want to just look at the 2 seasons where Rosenfels threw more than 100 passes, then it would be: 1. [1/2], 2. [2/2], 3. [2/2], 4. [2/2].
In those criteria, the numbers I used for thresholds (e.g. TD:INT ratio higher than 1, 60+% completion, 6.3 YPA, 70.0 QB rating) are all either above or right at Fitzpatrick's career best numbers.
Fitzpatrick's best TD:INT ratio was 0.9. His best completion percentage was 59.4%, his best YPA was 6.3 and 70.0 was his best QB rating in a season.
Rosenfels can make dumb mistakes, but Fitzpatrick isn't exactly a game winner. Despite what some people say, we did not have a winning record with him as the starter. And the wins under Fitzpatrick can be directly correlated to the number of turnovers we had. Coincidentally, Fitzpatrick's games as starting QB happened to come at the same time Byrd went on his INT tear.

I don't disagree that Rosenfels is a much better QB statistically (obviously based on the information you provided) the fact is he is a back up QB and nothing more. While Fitzpatrick isn't a starter, he is a serviceable back up...so I don't understand why everyone is bent out of shape that we didn't bring in a back up QB.
The last time the Bills made the playoffs was 1999.
Why didn't we trade for a journeyman NFL QB to sit on the bench?!?
Oh wait, maybe because we already have one!
Sage Rosenfels wouldn't start here either.
Favre is on his last legs, pretty much literally, and the Vikes didn't even care to keep him around all the while he couldn't beat out Tarvaris Jackson for the backup role and did so much to impress the Vikes they kept 6th round rookie Joe Webb as the third stringer instead.
How many times has this guy led the league is passing in the last 5 years? None?
We have very high standards, and unless he has won at least one title, and let the league in 2 major categories, and been to 4/5 Pro Bowls....and was a 1st round pick that we don't have to trade anybody for...we don't want the bum.
We'll just complain about what we have, thank you.
Rosenfels is a strange talent. He's had some good moments against the Bills, when he was in Miami. He's also had some incredible mental blunders that cost his team games and drives the coaches nuts.
