There will be a void for Takeo Spikes when he wakes up on Father's Day Sunday.
The Buffalo Bills' new star linebacker lost his father to brain cancer 20 months ago. In a sense, however, Spikes still gets to celebrate Father's Day every time he steps onto the NFL field.
Spikes has dedicated his career to his father, Jimmie. He puts his dad's initials on his wristbands every game he plays. And his success in the NFL is a reflection of how hard he has worked to follow the values his father instilled in him. ..
