What was the other choice?

And to add to yardie - It is a better combo than Durragamiason.

you guys are going to draft Andrew Luck or Jake Locker next year. They are better than anybody you can get this year. There's no reason to bring in anybody else. Just dont screw it up and go 8-8 lol. Its too early to say but Luck might be the best QB prospect since Peyton Manning

The team chose Edwards as the starter prior to preseason. He hasn't shown anything this preseason to suggest that he shouldn't be the starter. However, he has a track record of injury, and especially behind this line, it pays to have options. Brohm and Fitzpatrick provide two, and both can play at a passable level right now.

Levi Brown will never pan out in professional football. That was, realistically, the Bills' only other option.

(And for those of you pinning hopes on the Dictionary Bunch: remember, they said much of the same things about the 1999 draft-- the same one that produced such luminaries as Tim Couch, Akili Smith, Donavan McNabb, Daunte Culpepper, and Cade McNown all in the top 10. McNabb and Culpepper had decent careers, but of the five, only McNabb ever became a veritable franchise QB. Beware hype.)

because Gailey's version of Fitzbrohmwards may actually be better than Jaurons version? It's Fitzbrohmwards v2.0 lol hopefully Gailey got some of the bugs out that caused the system to crash last year.

Johnny B hit the nail on the head.

Edwards injury record is probably scaring the team to death, so they wanted a backup to the backup, just in case.
