From what I remember, his rookie year showed he's soft and weak despite his size. That's never good for a guard.
I do see why the Bills picked him up. You can't go into the regular season with 3 guards and 4 tackles on OL. Right now, I see the Bills goingto games with 7 active linemen - the 5 starters plus Jamon Meredith and him.
By the way, from Gailey's presser, I got the impression that they may even sub O-linemen during games. My guess is that for obvious passing downs, Meredith will come on to replace Green.
Of course, Bell is on strict play limits. So far, the max he's done is about 20 plays. Chris Brown estimated that it will take him about 4 weeks to play the whole game. So I suppose against Miami, Bell wll go for 30 snaps; Green Bay 40 snaps; New England 50; then full games. In that regard, the 2nd half against Miami, Meredith will replace Bell anyway. Hopefully the Bills have a good lead by then and just need to keep pounding the ball on the ground.
