It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach.
He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

Ayodele makes for a fine backup. If he ever becomes a starter, we might be in trouble. Has some good experience in the 3-4.

Agreed. The class isn't looking real strong at ILB and the OLB's isn't that great either unless we add in the 3-4 rush LB'ers... but many are converting from DE's.Originally posted by Jaybird
Id rather go after FA's. The LB'ers tend to be cheaper and even the older guys can still play solid.

Honestly...
I like Ayodele better in this scheme than Mitchell.
While he's not good enough as starter material, he provides much better depth seeing he knows the position and scheme better than Mitchell did.
One of our better "in-season" signings in years.Comment

I think this is a solid signing, the guy has had over 70 total tackles every year since 03 with the exception of one year. He's a backup, not a starter, but he gives us vet depth at LB which we have needed for years. Dont know if its a multi-year deal, if it is, I like it even better.

Ayodele is your basic, everyday, average NFL player. I mean that in a good way in this context. He was a nice pickup for us two years ago, and served us well before we upgraded (Dansby).
He's not great, but he won't be a liability either, which is what you need right now due to injuries. He's the type you'll like, you'll appreciate his effort, but you won't feel too bad about when he's cut next year to make room for a young guy w/ talent.
