EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey (Ticker) - The New Jersey Devils did not have a parade down Broadway, but they did celebrate their third Stanley Cup in nine years on Saturday.

The Devils attracted approximately 20,000 fans to the parking lot of Continental Airlines Arena, where the team set an NHL record by winning 12 games this postseason.

Although New Jersey rarely sells out its arena and plays in the shadow of the New York Rangers, only the Detroit Red Wings have won as many Stanley Cups since 1990.

"What (coach) Pat Burns has done along with (assistants) John MacLean and Bobby Carpenter and Jacques Caron is just incredible," Devils president Lou Lamoriello said. "We asked them to do things and the goal was the same as it has been every year, the Stanley Cup. In all my years of experience I have never seen a group of guys trust each other, care for each other and get it done like this group has."
