Dolphins and Bills to have a show of solidarity as well?

Wilson wants to put on a similar display before the Bills open the season against the Miami Dolphins at 1 p.m. Sunday in Orchard Park.

Wilson said he would reach out to the Dolphins' union representative, running back Ricky Williams, over the weekend to make arrangements.

"I guarantee without a shadow of a doubt every owner had a conversation about what they saw and what it means moving forward," Wilson said. "Our players are together.

"Even though we're playing football, we're businessmen and family men. Even though we're about to go into the heat of battle, we're conscious of everything that's going on around our game right now and the lockout that's looming."
ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Buffalo Bills safety George Wilson is on the NFL Players Association's board of player representatives. But he was caught off guard when the Minnesota Vikings and New Orleans Saints made a public display of union solidarity before Thursday night's game in the Superdome.

No fan wants to see this crap from millionaires...sorry, I don't give a crap about the players and what they want. Owners own teams, players play...get over it! The game is bigger then the players...always will be.

        Disagree.

This game without the players would be meaningless and next to no one would care about the NFL.

If you have any doubts about that, look back to 1987 and the scab games.

Without the players these owners wouldn't be pocketing any money and no one would care who Jerry Jones, Robert Kraft, Daniel Snyder or Ralph Wilson are.

The owners will prevail b/c they are all billionaires. They have other forms of income while players don't.

For every Lee Evans who makes $9 million/year, there are fifteen guys who make under $1 million. A lot of pro athletes, believe it or not, live paycheck to paycheck like anyone else by living beyond their means.

Look at MLB, the strike killed the owners. the MLBPA is got far stronger after strike. NFLPA is weak as hell, that is why Owners will prevail. It isn't just the Owners will always win. Depends on strength of union

Do these morons really think this does anything but piss off a lot of fans? I'm sure seeing the players do this is making the owners shake in thier boots. Owners are loving it. It's a PR victory for them IMO. Effing stupid!

Owners are loving the fact that if the NFLPA and them don't come to an agreement there will be no football played in 2011?

No football played = No revenue for the owners either.

And each owner stands to lose more than an entire roster loses.

Oh good...let's have our minds on something other than the actual game.

These guys should be eating, sleeping, ****ting, and dreaming about nothing other than kicking the Dolphin's ass tomorrow. Period.

Even a minor distraction is still a distraction.

I'm a union man so I gotta go with the players. They are the ones sacrificing their bodies for a short lived career.

And each owner is a billionaire businessman that make millions on other businesses.

And without the players, there would be no NFL football.

Stadiums would be half empty to empty and these billionaire owners would lose one of their major businesses.

Like I stated earlier, look back to the 1987 scab games on what the NFL would turn into if the players left. Or look at what happened to the USFL, WFL, XFL, Arena League. Without the marquee players, the NFL would turn into a garbage league that no one will care about.

Also, these players, many of them collect paychecks for 3 years and then are gone off to other pastures...meanwhile these owners, some have almost 50 year investments into it. So for that player who makes say...50 million over his career, that owner has probably made 10 times that off that player. And then that owner makes a bunch of money off some other marquee player and so and so on.

A lockout or players strike hurts the owners more than the players. Always has, always will. Strike or lockouts hurt the product and hurts the owners pocketbooks more than it ever has the players.

Players will still get paid regardless but a strike or lockout diminishes fan interest in the game. Which in turn hurts ticket sales, merchandise, tv ratings...etc.

Just look at how much the 1987 strike hurt the owners. That strike hurt the players zero...they benefited fully off the strike...sure they missed 4 game checks but got themselves FA and bigger contracts in the future. Which in turn has taken more money out of the owners pockets.

What does this all mean? In the end the owners will cave in to whatever the players desire for the most part. Because the owners know that without the big names the sport would be dead.
