The last time I saw that happen was by another ex-college coach, Butch Davis.

Kellen Winslow II broke his leg on the play.

Game back in 04 I believe Browns vs Cowboys.

Why not tee it up and do a real onside kick there? Doing the punt made it easy to just call for a fair catch.

I would of thought something so unusual would of been easily predictable.

Why not tee it up and do a real onside kick there? Doing the punt made it easy to just call for a fair catch.

Yes, that thing. The whole thing felt very Rube Goldbergesque. Maybe they thought the free kick would bounce off someone's helmet.
