To those who were at the game...

Are the receivers always covered down the field or are they getting open and Trent does not see them or is Trent too scared to throw it into tight windows when the reciever s have a little separation?

Re: To those who were at the game...

Watching TV, Steve Tasker commented one time that Miami had only rushed 4 and Edwards would have had time to look downfield, but because Miami had blitzed earlier, then showed blitz before backing off, Trent read blitz and passed to his hot read almost immediately. I think until or unless Trent proves he can read better and react to what defenses are doing, then that is the tactic opposing defenses will take all season long. Gailey has to fix Edwards or yank him. There is no other choice, nor is there much time or we'll be writing off another season.
I've made up my mind. Don't confuse me with the facts.

I'm the most reasonable poster here. If you don't agree, I'll be forced to have a hissy fit.

They are open down the field. The timer in his head is just going off way too early. Although in some cases it is justified. The blocking for him is terrible.

They're open. He's not looking. He needs to go.

I think it is easier for those that are home to see that then the ones that are at the game supporting the BILLS...

Receivers were open. He'd only scan half the field.

The are open, but Trent has no time to throw the ball. CJ looks like he'd be pretty fast though.

The problem is Trent does not think they are open unless they have 5 yards separation.

There were so many times where Lee Evans was one-on-one, Roscoe Parrish was wide open down the field and so was Steve Johnson and Trent didn't have the balls to throw the ball in the air. I don't just hate that he won't bomb it, I can't stand the fact that he won't even throw the intermediate passes...when's the last time a Bills QB was able to throw those? 20-30 yards in the middle of the field?

                    I'd settle for 10-20 yards

Agree with hydro. There were plenty open down field. Trent aint it, just that easy. And nothing short of a true franchise QB will be either.

Exactly! And when the **** are we going to ever learn to throw the ball PAST the ****ing first down marker on 3rd and long? Why do we continue to throw 3-5 yard passes on 3rd and long?!?! That pisses me off so much!

The first attempt over 10 yards came with 12 seconds in the first half, an impressive 12 yard strike while the Fins were playing prevent defense.

I didn't think that was possible in the modern era.

This is exactly what I think the problem is also. I think Trent doesn't want to throw unless he sees HUGE separation between WR and CB - like w/Parrish who was all alone for his TD. Otherwise, he refuses to throw it. The Oline blocking was horrible too, but Trent was just holding WAY too long and checking down WAY too much...

And I didn't understand why didn't use Lynch as a bruiser in the 1st half to tire Miami's defenders, then use FJ elusiveness in the 3rd qtr, and follow that up with speedy Spiller on a (hopefully) tired defense in the 4th. The game plan sucked and that's on Gailey!!! In his interview, he even admitted that he didn't have them prepared well on the run game. Miami came with a solid game plan and took the run game completely out!!!
