Well, he is a free safety. Perhaps he had something to do with Henne's longest pass traveling less than 20 yards in the air.

He was not tested all game..... To me thats a good sign from a player

he was just floating around. There was one 3rd down where if the ball wasn't tipped he would have been right there.

He literally is supposed to be an opportunist.

He came in on passing downs.

So he can't make a tackle? One tackle? He's a liability in the run game, face it.

My god he is one of our few good players. Can we focus on the crap instead?

Did you see anyone run past him? Did you see him miss a tackle? If so I want to know.

Exactly. He is no where near the ball on run plays. Provides no support in the box. I understand it's not really his role, but you'd think he'd have the instincts to step up and make a play.

So he is supposed to be the safety now that stays close enough to the line to run up and help against the run??? Come on man he is not superman who can be everywhere. His job is to protect on the pass not come up and stuff the run thats Whitners job. Your posting is really getting pathetic

One tackle. Is that so much to ask? :plane:

There's no chance in hell you can tell me he's not one-dimensional.

Na man, he didn't play the run game cause he still hasn't a 100% in game shape. You don't want smacking into RB's in that case. Byrd is going to be a big reason why this defense plays good vs. Green Bay.

They played him high with man under. I noticed Henne was hesitant to throw the ball deep over the middle even when he had a guy open because of Byrd's reputation as a ballhawk.

He's our FREE SAFETY, he's not supposed to be "up in the box for run support".... that's what the STRONG SAFETY (Whitner) is for.

I for one have had enough of your act and hope the powers that be step in and drop the ban hammer IMHO

 Seriously? I can't believe this thread was made. Who hasn't the Billszone made a disparaging thread about lately? Where's the Reggie Corner threads?

I can't believe Lindell missed that 63 yard FG at the end of the half. That's one he should have made!:drama:

I'm pissed that Byrd didn't come in and kick it through the uprights.

Not impressive.

When you think Buffalo Bills and Free Safety, you should automatically think Mark Kelso. Was he known for his tackling? No, he was a freaking ball hawk.

Byrd had a couple of real nice tackles vs Packers... He knocked Finley out of bounds in space to prevent a TD.
