Watching Oakland yesterday

They made the switch to Gradkowski at the half. Their O-line was playing horribly, possibly worse than Buffalo's. Gradkowski came in, got rid of the ball quickly, and voila! their offense looked good (granted it was against the Rams), and they moved the ball and ended up winning the game.

Trent holds the ball way too long. The o-line isn't helping, but on at least a hand full of times he held the ball way too long, and took a sack. He makes the o-line look a lot worse than it is, at times. The throw to Parrish that was a pick was vintage Edwards. Only Trent can stare down the intended reciever on a screen pass.

Get someone else in there, anyone else.

He telegraphs the most simple play the moment the ball is snapped. He's a zero, he doesn't get QB'ing. Never will.

And as someone else said, when he is going to get sacked, Trent runs back another 5-7 yds. What is up with that? He just tucks the ball & runs backwards.

the same thing happened with the bears game. Cutler came in and got killed. He/they started getting rid of the ball and calling the plays to let it happen. Amazing what happens when q'bs THROW THE BALL

Terry Sciavo has better field vision than Trent.

Trent can't read the D and find mis matches.. He just can't do it...

He doesn't see where the openings are going to be, or where the coverage is going to shift. He sure as hell doesn't know how to throw the ball to a spot and have his WR make a play.

Very good point. Gradkowski is very much like Garcia. In fact Garcia is Grad's mentor. He is very good at moving in the pocket. Trent's pocket presence is very similar to Rob Johnson's. He has no sense of how to move in the pocket and keep his eyes downfield. Notice that the best QBs in the NFL have amazing pocket presence, Rivers, Manning, Brees, Brady, Romo etc. Those guys are all MOBILE QBs, they don't run but their ability to slide up and down, left and right to buy time while looking for a target is special.

Trent is a static target in the pocket and he exposes himself even more by setting himself at the deepest point in the pocket. The pass rushers don't even have to dip their shoulders to get to him. They just speed rush and find him right there.

Trent lacks football savvy and instincts. He is not a "football player" IMO.

He looked so scared at times, before the ball was even snapped. Look at him next game, when they show his face when he gets to the line. He's wide-eyed and looks like he's about to **** his pants. Not exactly what you want out of the leader of your team.

That's the thing that sets these guys apart and why I thing Brohm or Fitz will do a better job. Maybe physically Trent is better (just as JP was better) but coming from a winning program in Louisville means something for Brian.

He was forced to make reads that either won or lost games while Trent never had to do that.

It's time to do something and if it blows up, so be it.

I watched a couple of Gradkoski's games last season. I also think he has decent pocket presence. I'd add that OAK (despite Al Davis' funny 1st round picks) seems to be improving...last season, beating PHI, CIN, PGH, DEN for 4 of their 5 victories.
