Green Bay - Even though the Green Bay Packers play in the smallest city in the National Football League, the makeover of Lambeau Field has transformed the team into an economic force in professional football.

How big? In terms of revenue, the Packers now rank 10th out of 32 teams in the NFL, based on the fiscal year ending March 31. One year ago, the team was 20th.

The Packers said net income after taxes was $15.5 million, a jump of $11.7 million over the previous fiscal year. The Packers' season runs within the team's fiscal year....

New amenities, attractions designed to help Packers remain competitive
GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) -- The NFL's smallest town has gone big time with a $295 million makeover of historic Lambeau Field.

"We have the best of both worlds now," Green Bay Packers kicker Ryan Longwell said. "We have the tradition, but now we have the amenities to go along with it."

The 32-month project added 11,625 seats to push capacity to 72,515 but preserved the famous aluminum bleacher bowl from the 1950s, keeping the stadium's nostalgic and intimate feel without any obstructed views of the field....

Open house held for people of Brown County
They poured in and out of the Lambeau Atrium, waited in lines for elevators and escalators to the club and private box seating areas, and stood at balconies studying the view from different vantage points.

Brown County residents, more than 30,000 of them, flocked to Lambeau Field Sunday to see what their money had paid for.

And they liked what they had bought....
