ALAMEDA -- The final seconds of the Raiders' 48-21 bushwhacking by Tampa Bay in Super Bowl XXXVII were ticking off Jan. 26 -- perhaps the most bizarre, most stunningly awful day in team history.
As his teammates soaked in the dejection of their sudden failure or were already mentally beginning their offseason, center Adam Treu became tense. More tense than at any time during a game he had unexpectedly started, the result of Pro Bowler Barret Robbins' disappearance and eventual dismissal from the team the day before.
Treu knew the largest media contingent of the American sports year was about to descend on him for reaction to Robbins going AWOL and shoving him onto football's biggest stage for his first start of the season....
