    Darryl Talley on Aaron Maybin

He was talking about Aaron Maybin today and mentioned a few things that he's noticed....

    DarrylTalley

This is not a dis just an observation: Maybins gotta be coached out of that 4pt stance. Can't rush like that. about 1 hour ago via TweetDeck

My thoughts on Maybin: he's got 2 b stronger, put on open side & play angles so he plays 1/2 a man inside or outside the player not head up.

    DarrylTalley

@MichaelThomas82 From what I can see 58s a half a second slow off the ball. I think he's looking at the man instead of the ball.

    DarrylTalley

    @MichaelThomas82 I wouldn't know 4 sure unless I talked 2 him though.

Good insight from Spiderman. I wonder if our coaching staff recognizes the same issues?

I hope so. But I doubt it. He's still lining up as a DE for some dumbass reason.

BTW when he says 4 pt. stance, is he being literal? I hadn't noticed but does Maybin actually have both hands touching the ground?

Maybin gets abused from the DE spot....Everybody knows that, except for our DC apparently.

Coaching can't help those who are not talented enough to make it.

Everybody in college that makes it to the pros has talent.

The question is will it translate to the NFL?

It may, but it hasn't thus far and it's trending downward.

How many college players can say the same thing?

Quite a few, and not many were drafting in the freaking 1st round of the freaking NFL draft. Sorry, patience is up with this kid. Schemes, coaching, etc, is of course important, and above our heads...but at the end of the day, over the course of several games, you're either good enough or not good enough, and he just isn't. Not strong enough, tough enough, fast enough. Just face it.

Maybin's been in the four-point stance throughout the preseason and regular season thus far. Seems to me that's what he's being told to do, but who knows.

It boggles my mind that our 3-4 defense could be this bland. How many blitzes were called today? How many times have guys faked blitzing? Are we making it difficult AT ALL for the QB to recognize who is covering, who is blitzing, etc.? Sure doesn't seem like it.
