    RIP George Blanda

    Dead at 83.

One of the greatest clutch players in NFL history. AFC player of the year in 1970 at age 44. I saw him play QB against the Bills a couple of times.

A true great and a raise of the glass.

The guy was kicking clutch FGs in his late 40s.

    One of the all-time greats.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

A true legend of the game. First man to 2,000 points.

You have to wonder what the man went through in his later years, seeing the Oilers move and the Raiders fall apart. It had to be hard on him.

Anyone else remember that miracle season he had in his 40's where he won a bunch of games both kicking and as the backup QB?

I do it was the 1970 season I believe where he did it 5 games in a row. My dad was a big fan of his and we watched all his games that we could. He was a big star in his time. All the memories will live on. I can still hear my dad cursing at the tv when the Raiders were behind, "Dam it, bring the old man in"

Blanda finally knew it was safe to pass on when Favre eclipsed his all time INT record by 40 and counting. RIP George!
