    Schottenheimer pledges wide-open fight for jobs

    The Chargers closed the book on their offseason workouts yesterday with the final two practices of a mandatory minicamp.

    The next time the club gathers on the field will be at training camp next month in Carson. It is at that point that coach Marty Schottenheimer will begin to answer questions such as: Who will start on the offensive line? And at safety? And cornerback?

    Schottenheimer was uncertain yesterday, but he was adamant that politics – i.e., salary and draft status – won't factor into his decisions
