$24 million could be the total value if he hits all incentives etc not the actual value

Chris Kelsay must have blackmail material on someone in the organization.

No way he gets 2 million let alone 24 million elsewhere.

It's the single least-likely re-signing possible on this team - and of course it happened, it's long-term, and it's lucrative. My God.

Even an optimist like me can find nothing good to say about this.
Should have known, way back in 1960 when we drafted Richie Lucas Number 1, that this would be a long, hard ride. But who could have known it would be THIS bad?

Here's his contract. I didn't realize he was a FA after the season. So basically, the new contract is another 4 years for $24 million, in addition to the $3.7 he was still getting this year.
                            Contract Information for Chris Kelsay
2/26/2007: Signed a four-year, $23 million contract. The deal included an $8 million signing bonus and initial roster bonus of $3 million. 2010: $3.7 million (+ $500,000 roster bonus due 3/5), 2011: Free Agent

If that's the case it will make me feel a hell of a lot better about the deal.
