If there's a Lockout...

Forgive me if this has been covered, but if we finish with the #1 pick, draft a guy (say Andrew Luck), and then the lockout lasts the whole season, wouldn't we be entitled to the #1 pick the following year? Not wishing awfulness the rest of the way, just curious about how that would work.

that is assuming that the lockout lasts the whole year, which it prolly won't players will cave with no paychecks

I believe so. I really think it unlikely that we have a lockout with the union de-certifying.

The union is only taking a vote about decertifying. They are not actually doing so. It just means the potential is there to do so if worse comes to worse.

I think there will be a new contract by March myself. If I am right remember this post. (If I'm not right just forget about it)

If the owners decide to lock the players out, the union will decertify and sue the NFL.

Whatever you do, don't panic.

If this get's ugly, and both sides dig in, we could get one heck of a blessing. Small consolation to having an awful season, but a possible consolation nonetheless.

If it appears that there will be a lock out, any underclassmen, such as Luck, will not enter the draft.
