All: The new Billszone site with the updated software is scheduled to be turned on Tuesday, May 21, 2024. The company that built it, Dynascale, estimates a FOUR HOUR shut down, from 8pm Pacific, (5pm Eastern) while they get it up and running. Nobody will be able to post in any forum until they are done. Afterwards, you may need to do a web search for the site, as old links will not work, because the site is getting a new IP address. Please be patient. If there are bugs, we will tackle them one at a time. Remember the goal is to be up and running with no glitches by camp. Doing this now assures us of that, because it gives us all summer to get our ducks in a row. Thank you!
There is work to be done and things to be learned. We are going to try to get the old look back - or something close to it. We also know there are bugs. A thread will be started to report bugs and then we can pass those onto the host.
Thank you for all the patience and support with this - hopefully this will greatly reduce the crashes and other site issues we have had lately.
Please use this thread to report any issues you come across

Re: So? Is Spiller or Jackson the feature back.....
Jackson suffers when his carries are split. The guy has earned the right to play. I am all for Spiller, and if you watch his college highlights (like we all haven't seen them 100x) he is probably one of the better receivers on this team.
A two back approach isn't going to hurt us if the blocking is set up right, because as much as I like Spiller, he isn't a very good blocker yet.
I have to laugh, there is a woman a few rows behind us that blames all of the franchise's problems on Spiller. Last week he actually made a nice block and she is screaming that he sucks...as she does on every play, whether he is on the field or not...even if it is defense. Personally, I blame her husband.

until CJ learns how to block, he won't be the feature back. He's going to get a qb killed if he's allowed to
This is true. I did see some signs of progress in that area though - mind you, he was getting an awful lot of real time practise.
I saw him pick up the blitz quite nicely a couple of times, the trouble was, he had two guys to try and take out. He did get one of them.
I think he will get better at it. Once the technique is down, a lot is about experience, and seeing where the heat is coming from. that in itself is a thankless task with this O-Line atm. I saw him miss a block, that he should have made, because he thought the first guy through was going to blow by Green, which didn't actually happen, so he couldn't get to the guy who did come free. I think he learnt from that, and I thought it showed later in the game.

Thoughts?
I think its Spiller. But I wouldnt have him run the ball a single time in practice, he should spend all day working on blitz pickup. He knows how to run the ball.
Re: So? Is Spiller or Jackson the feature back.....
I think initially, Jackson will ge the bulk, but as the season goes on, you would be a complete fool not to give the majority of touches to Spiller. Spiller needs 20 touches per game in any capacity. When he has open space, the guy is gold.
Re: So? Is Spiller or Jackson the feature back.....
Jackson will probably be the feature back. Spiller has actually been on the field a lot on passing plays. He obviously needs to work on his route running skills because he just hasn't been open even though he's been targeted a bunch. His workload will increase as he'll be getting more carries out of the backfield.
*Tim Graham just tweeted Jackson has been named the starter.
