This Saturday a classic SEC battle kicks off in the Swamp as the LSU Tigers take on the Florida Gators in a battle for SEC supremacy. LSU comes into the game 4-0 and riding one of the most interesting and controversial wins of the season. Late in the 4th Quarter with Tennessee up 14-10, Les Miles again showed the clock mismanagement skills that have driven his fan base wild. This time Miles' mistake was saved only by a too many men on the field penalty by Tennessee. LSU went on to win the game with a touchdown run by Stevan Ridley, but the Miles Factor lives on in Baton Rouge. Florida comes off an ugly game vs. Alabama where they were beaten in all facets of the game, losing to the 'Tide 31-6 while turning the ball over four times. Never in my football watching career have I seen two fan bases whose teams are a combined 9-1 be so negative heading into a big game. This weekend is a make or break game for both of these teams and will help dictate the remainder of their seasons. LSU is currently undefeated, but this game is the first of a four-game run that also includes the likes of Alabama and Auburn. For Florida they need a bounce back win, to restore confidence to their young offense and to show the rest of the SEC that this is still the Florida Gators we are talking about.
